What is 3D Printing?
3D printing is an additive processes in which layers of material are laid down one after another to create an object. 3D printing can create almost any shape or geometry, and is particularly suited for objects that cannot be made by traditional processes. Prints are produced from a 3D model made by a designer or engineer in a 3D modeling program.
The term 3D printing has expanded to encompass a wide variety of techniques including extrusion and sintering based processes. Generally 3D printing is considered “additive manufacturing” due to the fact that most traditional manufacturing processes are subtractive.
